Klose Du Arschloch
We were over the moon when Werder went ahead from a goal from Tim Borowski (the Juniorettes favourite player), but unfortunately Bayern hit back soon and were leading at half time by a margin of two goals. Werder fared no better in the second half and eventually lost the game 4-1. But at least in the second half Ollie Kahn, the goalkeeper for Bayern got stung by a wasp!
Whilst leaving the stadium we spotted the team buses and went to have a look and managed to get to see all the players from both teams quite close up. Nobody was signing autographs, which was bit of a downer for the Juniorette, but at least most players smiled and waved at the crowd. When Klose appeared lots of people were calling to him to sign autographs. He totally ignored the crowd which quietened down when they realised he was blanking them. Then a voice rang out loud ‘Klose Du Arschloch’ – Klose would have heard it, and I was shocked but very proud of my wife. It seemed a bit out of character for Mrs H to shout out such a thing, but she said it was an impulse and he fully deserved it – I can’t argue with that!
Even though Werder lost it was a fantastic birthday present and a great day out. Werder were under strength and I am sure the next meeting with Bayern in the Bundesliga will be a lot closer affair.

Well, happy birthday, Haddock! Glad you had a good time at the game and that Mrs. H. said what she did. LOL
*really* original after the fans were chanting "Klose Du Arschloch" before, during, and after the game, doh.
Anonymous. I don’t think Mrs Haddock was trying to be original, I believe she was expressing an opinion, an opinion that a lot of football supporters agree with.
I find it amusing that someone should accuse another person of a lack of originality and then finish with ‘doh’, well really, how original.
And just for the record, I also think Klose's an arsehole
Mr. Haddock, have you been using the Grecian 2000 or have the years of escaping from burning buildings and living on the remaining few square meters of the British Empire just been kind to you?
Any beauty tips? Moisturise? Organic Honey? Live outside the UK? Don't support Werder (As a Newcastle fan, I don't have to worry about almost getting to finals - and I'm sure we'll have Mickey Owen as a hate figure (a la Klose) when he leaves after playing 2 games for £9 million quid anyway).....
......and happy birthday to you......
Maribeth - It was a great day out indeed! :)
Nonnie Mouse - As Nordbank highlites, Mrs H wasn't trying to be original. Besides German lacks the more inventive insults that the English language is capable of :)
Nordbank - Mr Klose could have definitely handled the transfer a lot better. His whole dishonest attitude really pissed of the fans in a simular way that Sol Cambell did when he moved from Spurs to Arsenal a few years ago.....and did that Judas get stick or what! :)
Inactualfact - Time has been fortunate to me in some respects. I used to put it down to copious amounts of beer - but nowadays I'm not quite so sure. Perhaps its in my jeans (Freudian slip?) :)
Well, and today such bad news about Frings - there are much harder times coming for Werder in the next few months! Hopefully the team will be able to play as good as never before ...
LOL! I've met Mrs. Haddock and that does indeed seem to be a bit out of character. :-) But way to go, I'm sure he did deserve it. Sometimes they get so full of themselves and forget that it's the fans that make them what they are.
And yes, the rest of need to get some of that youthful elixir you've been drinking.
And Happy Birthday too!
I remember when I lived in Muenchen and being a VfB fan it was in the days of the Magische Dreieck - Giovanni Elber, Freddi Bobic and Krasimir Balakov - magical stuff, swept all before them, let in 4 and would score 6 that kind of thing.
Bayern won 1-0 at the Olympiastadion but Stuttgart won the Meistershaft the bavarians were sick!
Oh and apologies, you've been tagged, it isn't my fault I had to do it!
Glad you had a happy birthday.... the first of many more to come I hope.
And my apologies for not wishing you Herzlichen Glueckwuensch and alles gute zu Geburtstag usw. I am a bad man and I shall surely burn in hell!
Happy b'day, Haddock! Good to hear you had such a good time. And I think it's great what Mrs H did. They sometimes need a "gentle" reminder that they're only human, too.
Not a bad way at all to spend a birthday... and go Mrs. H!!
Deepblue - Luckily for Frings and Werder his Cruciate ligament is not torn, and he will not have to undergo surgery! :)
Christina - Mrs H still surprises me from time to time! :)
Red Baron - Isn't football magical stuff when its played right! - I will have to forgo the tag as I have already done this one :)
Ex-Shammickite - My thanks for the congrats :)
CS - It was a great day out even though our team lost! :)
Eurotrippen - It was a great way to celebrate - Much better than receiving a pair of socks or underpants! :)
Happy (belated) Birthday!
Happy Birthday! Not a bad surprise gift from Mrs. H.
