We are the champions!
This afternoon 1.FFC Frankfurt won the Women’s DFB cup final in Berlin against Duisburg . The game was 1-1 after normal time with Frankfurt winning quite convincingly during the penalty shootout. Mrs H and the Juniorette watched the game on TV. I only managed to see part of the game as I had to go to work.
Congratulations to the team on winning the cup and hopefully in the next couple of weeks they will clinch the Bundesliga championship to complete the double.

Woo-hoo!!! Congratulations!!!!!
No doubt the Juniorette and her mum were whooping it up when their team win. I assume that's the end of the season, and football doesn't start again till September? Here in Canada football is played through the summer..... something to do with the soccer fields being under 3 feet of snow during the winter!
Congratulations! The best have obviously won!
Hi, I am a German expat living in Norfolk, UK. And I studied in Marburg longtime ago... Lovely town!
It is so interesting reading about the "other side of the mirror" - nice blog.
Maribeth - Thanks!, we were all excited about the win! :)
Ex-Shammickite - Football starts up again in August. There is a winter break here in Germany, but it doesn't always coincide with the bad weather! :)
Nan - Thanks for the congrats! :)
Su - Thanks for stopping by. Did you enjoy your time studying in Marburg? I stopped by your blog which I enjoyed - It should help my German! :)
My brother used to date Birgit Prinz. No, really. They attended the same school (Gymnasium), so I can honestly say I knew her "way back when".
I was chuffed that VfB are Deutsche Meister, I think the last time they did that was when I was living in Munich and I wore my VfB shirt - the Bavarians hate that!
Martina - Thats a good claim to fame as she has been FIFA Womens player of the year a couple of times :)
Red Baron - I was disappointed that Werder blew it, but was happy for Stuttgart. Much better that VfB won the title and not Schalke or the much loathed Bayern Munich! :)
Haddock - I know, she's the female equivalent to Ronaldinho, I guess. Last year for my dad's birthday I got a personalized Autogrammkarte from her - dedicated to him - her parents are friends with my mom. (to explain - my parents are divorced) My dad was tickled pink that she remembers him.
